Samuel Jackson Making Headlines in Bavarian Lederhosen

The 75-year-old Samuel Jackson attended Munich Oktoberfest in Sept 2013. He stole the show with his traditional short Lederhosen with a Marron Velvet waistcoat, white-blue shirt, and long white loferl. He preferred his trademark cap instead of a Tyrolean hat, which was okay for a foreigner. The haferl and the blue oak leaves with Eidwiess embroidery aided Jackson’s Oktoberfest costume’s authenticity and vintage outlook. The global star enjoyed the Wiesn and promoted the traditional Bavarian outfit with his reach to a worldwide audience.

Robert Downey Jr.’s Customized Lederhosen

Our favorite ‘Iron Man’ Robert Downy Jr, adorned traditional brown Lederhosen with a black shirt and light brown jacket on the Munich premiere 2013. The action hero was promoting “Iron Man 3” when he chose a customized Bavarian outfit that appealed to Munchen’s audience. The green socks, matching his green neckerchief, turned many heads when he walked up the stage in dark brown Bavarian shoes. The beige embroidery and Charivari chain flared up the classic feel of his costume.

Kevin Spacey, the president character in the Netflix drama ‘House of Cards, attended Oktoberfest Munich in September 2016. The World famous Spacey adorned brown Lederhosen with yellow floral embroidery and a green velvet vest coat. The global icon grabbed everyone’s attention towards the Bavarian traditional attire. 

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Love for Bavarian Outfit

The Austrian-born Arnold Schwarzenegger is globally known for his action movies “The Terminator,” “The Predator” and many more. The bodybuilder turned actor also served as a governor of California between 2003 and 2011. The global star wore Lederhosen twice in 2016. Arnold is adorned in dark brown leather pants, matching suspenders, and a light blue shirt while shooting “Why We’re Killing Gunther in Vancouver” in Canada. He wore leather boots and a Tyrolean hat.

He was seen wearing Bavarian leather shorts at Oktoberfest the same year. But this time, he preferred a blue T-shirt with brown leather pants (no suspenders) bearing yellow floral detailing. Arnold conducted the orchestra at the Schuetzen Festzelt, which was enough to grab global attention to Bavarian attire.

Since then, the club has been holding the tradition of taking team photos in Mucnhen traditional dress every Oktoberfest. The Bayern fans eagerly wait to see their favorite players wearing the tracht, expressing love to the Bavarian roots. The team uses a unique jersey for football matches during the fest, creating a sense of community between fans, players, and the club.

Lewis Capaldi and Joe Jonas Getting Meaty in Lederhosen

Getting millions of fandom from “Someone You Loved,” Lewis Capaldi and the band member of the Jonas brothers, Joe Jonas, were trending in Berlin with their edgy Lederhosen look. The duo took a meaty break during their Europe tour in February 2020. Capaldi wore embroidered leather shorts, long greyish stockings, and a green-blue velvet waistcoat. Surprisingly, global rock star Ed Sheeran emerged at Frankfurt’s 2022 Oktoberfest dolled up in brown leather pants with matching suspenders and a blue checkered shirt. The energetic singer preferred Nike sneakers and a traditional-styled hat. Ed’s outfit blended traditional aesthetics and modern fashion flavors that appealed to the contemporary Lederhosen trends. The 33-year-old singer mesmerized the audience with his 2017 hit ‘Perfect’ and the Backstreet Boys’ Everybody.’

With the caption, “Donning Lederhosen at Oktoberfest,” the English Billionaire Richard Branson adorned traditional Bavarian attire on 28 September 2016. The light brown leather pants with reddish embroidery caught everyone’s eye at Oktoberfest. He wore a black haferl with white loferl and a red velvet waistcoat. The “virgin” CEO dashed to Lederhosen to speak at the ‘Bits & Pretzels conference’ held at Oktoberfest 2016, spitting rational business ideas in Classic Bavarian attitude.

In 2015, the Madame Tussauds Museum in Viena opened its doors with a special section for Wiesn. The section was decorated with an Oktoberfest atmosphere. The wax figures of global stars dressed up in alpine tracht presented an exceptional view. Dolled up in Bavarian Lederhosen, George Cloney is waiting at a table. Our favorite, Jhonny Depp, wore red embroidered pants with a sgreen vest and brown trachten jacket. The wax figure featuring global icons wasn’t only a tourist spot; it also promoted Austria-Bavarian traditional dresses across Europe.

The world-famous German fashion designer Lagerfeld brought Lederhosen to the limelight with his Tracht-inspired Chanel collection 2015. The fashion models walked down the ramp in modern costumes fused with classic embroidery and design patterns. Some female models donned leather shorts with embroidery like the Bavarian attire. While Boys were seen wearing leather pants with knee-height boots, Chanel Métiers d’Art showcased the contemporary variations in traditional dress that appeal to modern fashion trends.
